Julia Michalski, que estudia en la Universidad de San Francisco, en los Estados Unidos, ha vivido una experiencia única hoy. Ha visitado a una familia de una de las zonas más pobres de Olinda (Pernambuco). La gente va a vivir a esa zona porque no tiene que pagar terreno para establecerse allí, ya que se encuentra en plena naturaleza. La cabeza de familia a la que Julia ha visitado no tiene trabajo, y el gobierno la subvenciona con 140 reales al mes para poder subsistir. Dirige una familia con cuatro hijos y sobrevive como puede. Julia comenta que la realidad que ha visto hoy ha sido la más impactante de toda su vida. Es una situación que Julia no podría haber experimentado en el lugar en el que vive y es, con diferencia, el escenario más pobre que ha contemplado. Esta experiencia ayuda a Julia a replantearse algunas cosas en su vida y a tomar la iniciativa por construir un mundo más justo.

Julia Michalski, who studies at the University of San Francisco in the United States, has lived a unique experience today. She has visited a family of one of the poorest areas of Olinda (Pernambuco). People go  to live in that area because they do not have to pay to settle there, as it is in nature. Among the families that live there, Julia met a Young woman who is out of work, and so the government helps her with 140 reals which is equivalent to 70 dollars a month to survive; This woman has a family of four children and lives in a Little shack that she built herself out of scraps of Wood and trash. Julia stated that the reality she saw today has been the most striking of all her life. She witnessed a situation that could not have been experienced where she is from and is by far the poorest scenario she has ever seen. This experience helps Julia to reflect some things in her life and take the initiative to build a more just world.
